hey creative,
All the heart,
All The Grit,
All the talent:
is not enough.
I was rejected from my dream job…twice.
In hindsight I understand why, but in the moment it hurt. I felt like did my due diligence. I met every need, filled every gap, fought through the tough seasons (hello, 2020). Yet, every door I thought was cracked open for me to walk through felt closed off and locked down. So then like any normal, rational person I decided to do what I thought was healthiest for me: quit my job and find another one.
I’ll spoil how the story ended. The job change didn’t change anything. I still felt over-worked, overlooked, and under valued. Sparing you of the messy details, I quickly realized there was a deeper issue going on internally that no job change, title, or position could fix.
I think the world is harsh, but we can be even harsher to ourselves.
